About  The Artist

Vaughn Terrell Davis, Jr. (b. St. Louis, Missouri) lives and works in St. Louis, Missouri. He characterizes his artworks as forms of circumstance, being each object is a documentation of its making steeped in time, emotion and process. He both creates and destroys as a metaphor for humans existence. He works through mediums including painting, performance, video and clay to extinguishing the boundaries of his concepts. His work has a visual likeness to process driven actions including ripping, dying, tearing and reconfiguring objects, and moments in time. 

Vaughn received his BFA in Sculpture from Webster University in St. Louis.  His work has been exhibited at, Nazarian / Curcio Los Angeles, CA;  Dimensions Variable, Miami, FL; The Luminary, St. Louis, MO; Romer Young Gallery, San Francisco, CA; Gazebo Gallery, Kent, OH; among others. In 2022 he was invited to participate in the Curated Storefront, Akron OH as part of the Front International: Cleveland Triennial For Contemporary Art and was chosen as a representative of his home state, Missouri, in the Delta Voices: Artists of the Mid South Triennial. In 2023 Davis, Jr. will create a torn flag to be hoisted outdoors at Laumeier Sculpture Park, Sappington, MO in tandem with his solo exhibition in the museum's gallery.
